the easiest bleach tie dye DIY!

I’ve always loved a good crafting day, but now with all this time on my hands during the quarantine, I can craft allllll day. When I saw these reverse tie dye bleach sets everyone was wearing/making, I knew I had to jump in.

I’ve been wanting a matching set, but didn’t want to break the bank, so this was perfect for me.

I followed this video from Graciela Rose step-by-step, and it all came out so well!

I took a few pictures of my process, but for more details, I would definitely check out the video!! It’s super easy to follow!

I started with the essentials: rubber bands, gloves, a spray bottle with equal parts bleach and water, and a black sweat set I bought online!

For an oversized look, I would recommend Men’s sweatpants and sweatshirts, but feel free to use whatever you would like! Amazon has several affordable ones, affiliate linked here: Hanes Pants

Next, I scrunched and added rubber bands, just like the video. Make sure you wear clothes you don’t mind ruining- bleach has a way of getting everywhere!

I would also make sure you have enough space- either do it outside or in the bathtub, like I did!

After letting them sit for about 10 minutes, I rinsed them in the tub and then threw them in the washing machine to wash with cold water. I also added one tide pod.

After drying them, I was able to see the finished product, and I couldn’t be happier! I’m still trying to decide if I want to crop the sweatshirt and/or turn the sweatpants into joggers, but I do know that I want to make more! I’m feeling gray next.

Overall, I’m SUPER happy with this DIY, and can’t wait to wear it out!

I’ll definitely be making more for myself, and might make some for friends too!
